Kempster thistle

The family name Kempster comes from the word 'kempen'- to comb. It is a trade-descriptor name derived from the fabric workers who combed and teased wool and flax fibres prior to spinning.

The word unkempt   is still in use as a negative connotation of our name!

The photographs are intended for the amusement and edification of family and friends. They will be changed frequently!

The recipe collection is more of a long term project, it'll be added to as we develop new tastes, or find new favourites!
